Meet the Team

Dr. Bartosz Wojdynski

Dr. Bart Wojdynski led the creation of CollegeAtAllCosts.com as a journalism capstone course at the Grady College in Fall 2017. Wojdynski worked with the student newsroom members to plan the site concept, sharpen story ideas and direction, and working closely with the site team. When not training the next generation of visual journalists, he researchs the psychological effects of digital media design on attention and information processing as director of the Digital Media Attention and Cognition (DMAC) Lab.

Madison Beasley
Mark Cochran
Madison Beasley spent this semester working on the Cost & Fees and Higher Education stories on our site. After she graduates in December, Madison will go on to become a middle school teacher at Notre Dame Academy!
A recent graduate of the University of Georgia, Mark is a journalist with a focus on sports. He contributed to the Sports Arms Race portion of the site, researching different athletic fees in colleges that span Georgia and Alabama. Also working on the site trailer including editing and recording voiceover.

Gabrielle Cowand
Kalli Drake
Gabrielle Cowand has worked on the Institutional Arms Race story as well as on the photo team. After graduating in December with a degree in journalism and minor in communication studies, she will continue to work on the corporate communications team at Delta Air Lines, while finishing her master’s in Emerging Media.
Kalli Drake was a member of the HOPE team exploring the history and development of the HOPE scholarship. After graduating this December with a journalism degree and minor in communication studies, Kalli will continue as an intern with the University of Georgia Wesley Foundation seeking to take her media skills into the ministry field.

John Durham
Andrew Fisher
John Durham is a 22-year-old attending the University of Georgia. He has a double major in Journalism and Management with a Sports Media Certificate. He is currently the sports editor at The Red & Black student-run independent newspaper on campus and will be the managing editor at The Red & Black next spring.
Andrew Fisher worked on the HOPE piece this semester. He has a double major in Journalism and Political Science and plans on attending law school next fall.

Rachel Gadra
Zach Griffin
Rachel contributed to the photo and video elements of the Sports Renovations story and assisted in website design. From Kennesaw, GA, Rachel will graduate this spring with degrees in English and journalism, a minor degree in music, and a certificate in New Media. She hopes to pursue a career in longform journalism and to continue playing her french horn following graduation.
Zach has contributed to the Sports Arms Race team along with the creation of graphics for other stories on the site. A native of Athens, Georgia, Zach intends on graduating with a degree in journalism in December and plans to find a job close to home in 2018.

Zach Hansen
Nate Harris
Zach Hansen mainly worked mining and synthesizing data for the the blue lights crime data stories and maps on our site. After graduating with a major in Journalism, minor in Religion and a New Media Certificate, hopefully someone will hire him to do something journalistic-y. Hopefully.
Nate Harris served as the lead web designer for College At All Costs as the team built the website from scratch. Nate is a senior journalism major at the University of Georgia, with a minor in computer science and pursuing a new media certificate. Following graduation, Nate plans to be a news reporter in the media industry.

Emily Jung
Lexi Kelson
As part of the Site Team, Emily helped to create the College At All Costs website. She is graduating from the University of Georgia in Fall 2017 with a degree in journalism.
Lexi Kelson worked on the graphics for the website as well as ones made specifically for social media promotion. She will graduate from UGA in Spring 2018 with a music minor and music business certificate alongside her journalism major to pursue a career in the music industry.

Anna Logan
Jackie Long
Anna Logan spent her time working on many video aspects of our site, as well as launching the social brand for College At All Costs. Starting in January, Anna will be moving to New York to work at Traditional Home Magazine as their Markets and Social Media Editor.
Jackie Long is a fourth-year journalism major with a music business certificate. This semester she researched and collected the data for the Costs & Fees story and Higher Education story. After she graduates in December, she will be working in the music industry in Nashville, TN.

Patrick O'Shea
Kelly Quinn
Patrick has studied sports journalism at the Henry W. Grady School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia. Patrick has published in several different outlets including Dawgnation.com and the Athens Banner-Herald. Currently he works part-time as a sports writer covering high school football for the Marietta Daily Journal.
From Gainesville, GA, Kelly worked alongside the Cost & Fees team for College At All Costs. Additionally, she contributed video and visual elements, including the staff headshots and interview clips. She will graduate from the University of Georgia in spring 2018 with degrees in Journalism and Theatre & Film.

Layne Saliba
Nathan Toburen
Layne Saliba helped conduct research for and wrote the Costs & Fees portion of the site. He also created the Social Media presence to promote its launch and content. After graduation in December, Layne will be seeking a job in sports journalism.
Hailing from Dacula, Georgia, Nathan contributed to the content and data found on the HOPE timeline. After graduation, he plans to get his master’s degree in sports management.

Laura Woodliff
Harrison Young
Laura Woodliff contributed to the photo elements and the amenities arms-race section of the site. She will graduate from the University of Georgia in December with a degree in Journalism and a minor in Women’s Studies.
Harrison contributed to the HOPE timeline for this project. A double major in Journalism and Film with a minor in Political Science. He is currently the Campus News Editor for the Red&Black, and has no idea what he’ll be doing with his life next semester.
